Crimbo on the river

Festive drinks at The BFI makes Christmas in London. What's better than gossiping with an old friend about bygone times, a cheese plate and 'sink if you miss' leather booths. Beautiful lights, bitter air and the Cologne Market. Wunderbar!

FT Gift Wrap!

A very good use for the Financial Times! All wrapped strategically; showing sport, wine reviews, Louis Vuitton handbags and stately homes depending on the presentee! Gifts all adorned with kitschy ribbon and copious amounts of gold bows. Obviously... Last year I used Le Monde and Figaro however East Anglian supermarkets dont tend to stock such international delights!

Sleigh bells ring...

Absolutely loving having some time off work before Christmas. I am being spoilt at home and doing lots of Christmasy things. Have been tree shopping, pie making, snow walking, fairylighting, mince pie eating, tree decorating, brandy drinking, cheesy carol singing, present wrapping and generally getting in the festive mood. Here are some snaps of hometime....

Christmas in Bermondsey

A bicycle wheel Christmas tree in Bermondsey Square!

Homemade Crimbo Cards (Sneak Preview!)

Hurrah! At last I have actually started to hand make my Christmas cards this year. The thought has turned into a reality. I am by no means an artist; my nativity sketches would be somewhat unfestive! So I got out my trusty stencil and coloured pens and off I went. Coming to a postbox near you..... (And yes I take commissions, requests and personal favours!)

Pretty pictures for a cold December eve

Here are some uber cool posters, typography & collages from the simply stunning Art Deco and Nouveau era I found in my photo folder. Always a constant inspiration. Enjoy!

Christmas Presents for whom?! Me or you?!

I really should be looking for other people but I keep seeing amazing things for me! hehe. If you havent already bought some pressies for others here are some gorgeous things from the Design Museum. Acutally come to think of it; I have been a very good girl this year....

Coffee Knits

This is why I should be drinking coffee again...

Wishlist? Christmas List? Mum and Sis in Law list?

I need a coffee and I need to learn how to knit. Again....

Both found @ Wayside Violet on Etsy

Interior Stag

I keep tagging, bookmarking and making notes of Stag prints at the moment. Maybe it was the homemade Venison sausage roll I had yesterday but there seems to be a bit of a personal trend with anything Deer related. Maybe I should get the Bambi DVD out just to really get in the mood!

Love this cushion - it mixes the masculinity of the Stag with the feminine chic of the flowers found @ Not on the High Street....

This blackboard totally caught my eye too found @ Brume (which is amazing)...

Singin' in the rain

I wish I was able to pull of rain and wind chic this weekend...just like Emma Watson.....

The New Choo

I have been checking out the news and events section of the University of Arts website - its a brilliant resource of whats hot to trot in London's young and vibrant fashion, art and creative world. Its also a great way of hearing about up and coming new designers and 'ones to watch'. I have massive shoe envy with this one. Destined to be HUGE is Joanne Stoker. She has just won a competition to kick start her own fashion business through the First into Fashion scheme. Jimmy Choo is their mentor whilst working rent-free in a studio in the Connaught Village.

Covet, covet, covet.....

The coolest gift wrap!

How fantastic is this?!?! Found via the very cool Black *Eiffel - resusable fabric wrapping paper by Chewing the Cud.....

Vintage Apothecaries

This evening I have been pouring over Art Nouveau design in the apothecary world. One of my favourite brands is Diptyque, so I have been researching Parisan perfume labels and beautiful glass bottles.

There are so many of you out there who are equally obsessed. It makes me want to make my own homemade products and adorn second hand glass jars with elaborate labels - all written by hand of course! So Diptyque is wonderfully French, Kiehls is fabulously American but what is our British equivalent?

Here is a selection of gorgeous bottles, labels and apothecary shelves....
